GENERIC USERS

The file MED-SIS-Manual-Generic_User.pdf contains the generic MED-SIS user manual (in English), which describes how to use the Soil Information System.

MED-SIS is essentially a catalogue of soil data resources that the MED-SIS staff may or may not share with the user.

A soil data resource can be a dataset, a map, a document, a geoStory or a dashboard that MED-SIS staff shares with users.

  • Dataset are geospatial resources that can be stored, managed, visualized, and shared through the platform. A dataset typically represents a spatial layer
  • Maps are compositions or visualizations built from one or more datasets
  • Documents are non-spatial files such as PDFs (reports, studies), Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, images, and presentations.
  • GeoStories are a special content type used to create interactive narratives that combine maps and multimedia content.
  • Dashboards are interactive pages used to visualize and analyze geospatial data through charts, widgets, and maps.
